The Stone House
Castle Donington Museum occupies the ground floor of the Stone House. A charming 17th Century listed building which was originally used as a farm.
The Museum is situated in the centre of the village, which has many interesting buildings and shops.
The Museum has a small shop with local interest books, hand turned woodware and good quality old fashioned toys.

The conversion of the Stone House, barn and garden for use as a Museum began in the spring of 1999. There are two main display rooms, and a reception area with general information on the surrounding district.
An interactive computer facility provides visitors with a series of visual displays showing historical aspects of the area. Our database will provide information on such aspects as genealogy, building history, archeology, published and documentary sources.
Disabled Access
There is access for the disabled in the Museum but there is limited access in the garden.
Parking
Free parking is available nearby in the Market Place or in either of the two car parks in the village centre.
Toilets
Public toilets with disabled access are available close by at the Bus station.
